Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There's camping available near Ausable River. This   stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The Keeseville to US Route 9 section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. Briefly about the general area: Macomb Reservation State Park is a pleasant place, and a spree to Alice Falls will fill your spirit with good feelings. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Adirondack Mountains, too good to be true. Cumberland Bay State Park is a delightful site to explore, and don't leave Ausable River without first paying a visit to Rainbow Falls. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer.
