This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill   up quick. This section of Batavia Kill River in New York is 4.7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-IV section of whitewater. Briefly about the general area: The skiing at Belleayre is good, and there is a wonderful hiking trail close by called the Seager West Branch Trail. And if that's not sufficient there's heaps more entertaining things to do in the Catskill Mountains. People from Fleischmanns love to come to Batavia Kill River, and visiting Mine Kill State Park is a fine thing to do. This river is a wonderful place to visit. Bragg Hollow is a tremendous spot to spend some time at.
