  The Route 212 bridge below Willow to Kaaterskill section of Beaver Kill River is 4.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-V section. The nature scenery of New York and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less
    forgiving. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The river winds through the Catskill Mountains and you get great scenery. No matter if you're whitewater rafting
or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. The Route 212 bridge below Willow to Kaaterskill stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are many good hotels to choose from, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you're coming from Kingston it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further  
down the page with more info on that. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip.

At Beaver Kill River you always meet someone from Saugerties. Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park is a delightful site to stretch your legs a bit. A typical amount of rain falls here at Beaver Kill River. The wettest month of the year is typically May, that's the one that rains the most while February is regularly the driest month. Summer at Beaver Kill River arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's.
