CLASS II-III     17 miles
  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. This section of Catskill Creek is 17 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping
    bag. The wild scenery of the Catskill Mountains is great. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Kingston, as you can see on the road map further down. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting
or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The nature scenery of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but  
if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

Briefly about the general area:
Near Catskill Creek you stumble on the Spruceton Trail which is a great hiking trail; you can never get enough of the good skiing at Windham Mountain. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Catskill Mountains. While you're here at Catskill Creek you will meet lots of people from close by Cornwallville. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Catskill Creek. May is when you get the most rain here, and February on the other hand is the driest.
