CLASS I-III     7 miles
  The starting location is a short drive from Oneonta. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The West Harpersfield stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
    There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The beautiful scenery of Delaware County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This section
of Center Brook/Middle Brook in New York is 7 miles long and it is classified as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The beauty of the Catskill Mountains is a great plus for this river. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. This section is long enough  
to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip.

While you're here at Center Brook/Middle Brook you will meet lots of people from close by Harpersfield. Head up to Ski Plattekill and strap some skis to your feet. An average amount of rainfall falls at Center Brook/Middle Brook. June is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. At Center Brook/Middle Brook during the summertime months highs are in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. During the wintertime highs are typically in the 30's, and night lows at Center Brook/Middle Brook all through the wintertime ordinarily sink into the 10's.
