Try the West Canada Creek, much more water flow. Says River Walker If you're coming from Utica-Rome it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. The natural beauty of New York and the cool fresh water beats anything. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The Remsen to Barneveld stretch of Cincinnati Creek in New York is 4.5 miles long and is rated by   American Whitewater as a class V section. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
