The put-in location is a short drive from Amsterdam, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The scenic beauty of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Since you're on this site you are probably
    into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York are harder than the national norm, so don't forget that the rivers in this
state are less manageable. The Warnerville to Sidney Corners section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Warnerville to Sidney Corners stretch of Cobleskill Creek in Schoharie County is 13 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. There  
are many good hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here.

Briefly about the general area:
Everybody loves Mine Kill State Park; you'll meet a lot of folks from Cobleskill here. Max V. Shaul State Park is a fine location. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Cobleskill Creek while night lows are usually in the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Cobleskill Creek temperatures drop to the 10's.
