Is it off of rat 62? The map is not very clear. Please help. Says Tom This section of Eighteenmile Creek in Erie County is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-V section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some     time outdoors are great reasons to come. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Buffalo-Cheektowaga-Tonawanda, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Hamburg to Lake stretch is one of them. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. The beautiful   scenery of Erie County and the water flowing gracefully down Eighteenmile Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There's camping available near Eighteenmile Creek. Nothing beats kicking back at Buffalo Municipal Bathing Beach, and Evangola State Park is a glorious site to stop by on a beautiful day. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer.
