Says Patti O'neil This section of Fish Creek in Saratoga County is 7.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. The wonderful New York scenery and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. The put-in is not too far from Glens Falls, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t     get lost. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Burgoyne to Schuylerville section is one of them. There's camping available near Fish Creek. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem   and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Don't leave Fish Creek without visiting Moreau Lake State Park; beaches are glorious and Haviland Cove Beach is no exception. A perfect site like Saratoga Spa State Park in close proximity to Fish Creek is too good to leave out; the snow is fine at Willard Mountain. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. You'll meet a lot of people from Schuylerville here. High temperatures at Fish Creek during the days of summer are in the 70's.
