The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Batavia, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The wonderful Wyoming/Livingston County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Genesee River will make you feel great. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. You     might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Lee's Landing to St. Helena section is one of them. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. Great   exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Briefly about the general area: Letchworth State Park is a pretty place any time of year, and at Genesee River you always meet someone from Hunt. Places like Silver Lake State Park are perfect to have a look at; a day on the slopes of Swain is just what you need. This river is always fun. For the period of the warm days of summer at Genesee River temperatures are frequently in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows all through the winter for Genesee River tend to be in the 10's.
