New York whitewater, Hannacrois Creek Greene county, Deans Mill to Hudson River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS III-IV     5.5 miles   The nature scenery of Greene County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Deans Mill to Hudson River section is one of them. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The Catskill Mountains scenery is wonderful. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places. This stretch of Hannacrois Creek is 5.5 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are some good   hotels near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. From a precipitation point of view Hannacrois Creek is a reasonably typical place. June is the wettest month with most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. High temperatures at Hannacrois Creek all through the warm months are in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Through the wintertime highs are mostly in the 30's while Hannacrois Creek overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's.
