The average New York whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Rochester, as you can see on the road map further down. The Tuscarora to Sonyea section is one of a few     paddling sections in this river system. There's camping available near Keshegua Creek. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. No need to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch of Keshegua Creek is 7 miles long and is a class II+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: Don't leave Keshegua Creek without going to Stony Brook State Park; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by   Swain. Letchworth State Park is worth going to if you're at Keshegua Creek, and Wildcat Gully is a great spot to explore. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. If you're visiting Keshegua Creek from Mount Morris, you won't be the only one. The yearly rainfall here at Keshegua Creek is about average. Most of the rain falls throughout June, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Keshegua Creek. For the period of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's; during the dark hours in the winter at Keshegua Creek temperatures plunge to the 10's.
