  The Winter Clove to Hearts Content Road section of Kiskatom Creek is 4.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-V(V+) section of whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. The nature scenery of Greene County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. Whether you're whitewater
    rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. The starting location is a reasonable drive
from Kingston. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Winter Clove to Hearts Content Road section is one of them. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The  
beautiful Catskill Mountains scenery is an added bonus.

Briefly about the general area:
The cheerful folks of Purling like to hang out close by; the snow is perfect at Hunter Mountain. That right there is a lot of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Catskill Mountains has it all. Glen Falls is a great local attraction, and a good location to stop by nearby is Winter Clove. This river is so perfect. High temperatures at Kiskatom Creek through the months of summer are in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Kiskatom Creek dip into the 0's.
