This stretch of Little Trout River is 2 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all     set. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. The nature scenery of Franklin County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. The starting location is a short drive from Malone, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Through the summertime months highs here at Little Trout River reach the 70's while night lows are mostly in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Little Trout River. All the water falling down from the sky makes Little Trout River a wet location. Of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February.
