  The starting point is not too far from Utica-Rome, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The beautiful Adirondack Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The wonderful New York scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Little Woodhull Creek attract
    people from near and far. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Great exercise and
just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The campgrounds here at Little Woodhull Creek are pretty good. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon.

Briefly about the general area:
 
On a great day at Little Woodhull Creek you can take a hike along the Forty Mountain Trail, and Pixley Falls State Park is a nice place to stretch your legs a bit. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Adirondack Mountains. If the weather is magnificent here at Little Woodhull Creek, you can go for a hike along the Stone Dam Trail, and you'll meet a lot of people from Forestport here. Coming to this river is always a good idea. High temperatures at Little Woodhull Creek through the warm months are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Through the winter highs are ordinarily in the 20's; after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Little Woodhull Creek descend into the 0's.
