  This stretch of Mohawk River in Albany/Saratoga County is 0 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're coming from Albany-Schenectady-Troy it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. There are a few other stretches in this river
    system that can be paddled as well. This is a very short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often more difficult than elsewhere,
so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The natural beauty of New York and the cool fresh water beats anything.

A trip to Peebles Island State Park when you're here at Mohawk River is a glorious idea, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Cohoes here. Cohoes Falls is an inspiring location to visit during your stay. For the duration of the long summer days, highs mostly are in the 80's at Mohawk River. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Mohawk River are in the 10's. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Mohawk River. Throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here, and February on the other hand is the driest.
