This section of Moodna Creek in New York is 6 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. There's camping     available near Moodna Creek. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. If you're coming from Kingston it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There are some good hotels near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Hiking along the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail is glorious fun, and Moodna Creek is in the neighborhood of Harriman State Park which is a charming place.
