  The beautiful scenery of Orange County and the water flowing gracefully down Moodna Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This section of Moodna Creek in New York is 6 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. There's camping
    available near Moodna Creek. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. If you're coming from Kingston it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're
not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There are some good hotels near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The Woodbury Creek to Old Forge Hill Road section  
is one of a few paddling sections in this river system.

Briefly about the general area:
New Sebago Beach is near Moodna Creek if you're in a beach type of mood, and you beyond doubt ought to pop by Harriman State Park if you're here. Hit the beach if you want, Old Sebago Beach is practically right here. Take a hike on the Stilwell Lake Trail, and there are plenty of people from Cornwall here. Hiking along the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail is glorious fun, and Moodna Creek is in the neighborhood of Harriman State Park which is a charming place. The high level of rainfall makes Moodna Creek a reasonably wet place.
