Actually its the Normanskill. Kill means Creek from the Dutch.

On this route, below the Delaware Ave. (rte 443) bridge there are a series of dangerous Class V ledges where the stream drops

The Normansville to Route 32 stretch of Normans Kill River in New York is 3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-V section. If you're coming from
Albany-Schenectady-Troy it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The wonderful Albany County scenery and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just  
hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Normansville to Route 32 section is one of them. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. There's camping available near Normans Kill River. This is a somewhat short section so no need to bring snacks.
