This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch of Popolopen     Creek in Orange County is 4 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the to Popolopen Bridge stretch is one of them. No need to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Briefly about the general area: Deep Hollow is in the vicinity of Popolopen Creek and is definitely a perfect place to pop by; the   Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close by. Anthony Wayne Recreation Area is a delightful location to stretch your legs a bit; a day at picturesque New Sebago Beach right next door to Popolopen Creek is a great thing to do. At this river you will never have a bad time. Lots of people from West Point come to Popolopen Creek; Old Sebago Beach is a pretty beach to pop by. On a nice day at Popolopen Creek you can take a hike along the Stilwell Lake Trail, and when you're here it's always fun to stop by Bear Mountain State Park. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors cool stuff the area near Popolopen Creek has to offer.
