This stretch of Potic Creek River is 3.8 miles long and it is classified as a class II-V section by American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Hudson, as you can see on the road map further down. The Catskill Mountains scenery is wonderful. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the     river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The Schoharie Turnpike Bridge to Sandy Plains Road section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near.
