I kayaked this stretch the day after a big rainstorm in a recreational kayak and it was considerably more difficult than the review makes it out to be. Several downed trees and a huge beaver dam were the worst obstacles. Bingham Mills to Dales Bridge has some dangerous spots. Dales Bridge to the Hudson River is considerably tamer but only about a 40 minute trip. I kayaked it in early June 2006. Says Thomas

destination.
Briefly about the general area: During your spree to Roeliff Jansen Kill River you'll meet some people from Germantown for sure. Places like Lake Taghkanic State Park are splendid to take a look at.
Summer at Roeliff Jansen Kill River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's.
