The beautiful scenery of New York and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. This stretch of Round Lake Outlet is 8.5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots     of paddling rivers. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The campgrounds here at Round Lake Outlet are pretty good. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The average New York whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you   might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater paddling here in the Adirondack Mountains is a great experience. Briefly about the general area: Lots of people from Tupper Lake come to Round Lake Outlet, and if you're looking for a beach close by we recommend Silver Beach. That right there is a load of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all. Round Lake Outlet sees pretty high levels of precipitation. August is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through the summer months highs here at Round Lake Outlet get into the 70's with night lows in the 50's.
