The North Hudson bridge to Schroon Falls stretch of Schroon River in Essex County is 5 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater     according to American Whitewater. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York are harder than the national norm, so don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. The nature scenery of New York and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
