  The nature scenery of Franklin County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The Everton Falls to Middle Branch stretch of St. Regis River - East Branch in Franklin County is 6 miles long and is a class III-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Whitewater rafting
    and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an
