  The starting location is a reasonable drive from Albany-Schenectady-Troy, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The natural beauty of New York and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often tougher than elsewhere, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. If you're a camper you can camp at
    one of the great campgrounds nearby. The Route 351 Bridge Medusa to Deans section of Ten Mile Creek in New York is 3.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. There aren’t any hotels right
nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places. The wild scenery of the Catskill Mountains is great. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Route 351 Bridge Medusa to Deans stretch is one of them.  
A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.

Briefly about the general area:
Going for a hike on the Spruceton Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and what would winter be without some skiing at Windham Mountain. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Catskill Mountains. You'll meet a lot of folks from Medusa here; when you're here it's always fun to take a look at John Boyd Thacher State Park.
