New York whitewater, West Kill River Greene county, Albinos Pizzeria to Schoharie Creek section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-IV     7.7 miles   If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New York you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Kingston, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The wild scenery of the Catskill Mountains is great. The natural beauty of Greene County and the beautiful way the water current moves     down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Albinos Pizzeria to Schoharie Creek stretch of West Kill River in Greene County is 7.7 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The Albinos Pizzeria to Schoharie Creek section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Getting some   good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. Briefly about the general area: The Phoenicia Trail offers hiking at its best, and Mink Hollow is undeniably a great place to take a look at. These mountains rock, just look at all the exciting stuff to do in the Catskill Mountains. Hit the slopes at Windham Mountain in close proximity; a trip to Mine Kill State Park when you're here is never a bad idea. This river is so good.
