CLASS I-II 1 miles
|
| |
This section of Bear Creek is 1 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside North Carolina you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby |
campground. This section is very short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places.
| You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The beautiful scenery of country County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. The put-in location is a short drive from Sanford, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further | |
