  If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere. The beautiful scenery of Rutherford County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section of Broad River in North Carolina is 20.2 miles long and has been determined by American
    Whitewater to be a class I-II section. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping
bag too. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the US Route 221 South Bridge to South Carolina Route 10 Bridge stretch is just one of them. No need to look hard for hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The put-in location

Briefly about the general area:
You're sure to stumble upon some nice folks from Mooresboro here. Broad River gets a good deal of water. During March this area sees the most rain, and April is when it's the driest. Summer at Broad River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's. Through the winter highs are generally in the 50's with temperatures at Broad River dipping down into the 20's during winter nights.
