There is a place called Parkers thats right on the river, but they will not let you put in there. Says Michael If you're coming from Lincolnton it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map     further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in North Carolina tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the High Shoals section is one of them. No need to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. For all you camping people   there are campgrounds nearby. This is a very short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.
