The Off Highway 28 Into Overflow Creek stretch of Clear Creek in North Carolina is 2 miles long and is a class III+(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so don't forget     that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a bit of a short stretch so no need to bring snacks. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The wild scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains is great. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The put-in is not too far from Seneca, if you're   not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There's camping available near Clear Creek. Briefly about the general area: Clear Creek is right next door to Black Rock Mountain State Park which is a stunning place, and pleasant skiing awaits you at Scaly Mountain. Be careful coming to the Blue Ridge Mountains, you might not ever want to return back home again. Clear Creek is a site with many visitors from Highlands, and do take a hike on the Three Forks Trail. Coming to this river is always a good idea. Nearby Wheel Branch Gap is a perfect place to go if you're at Clear Creek, and hiking along the Burrells Ford Trail is magnificent fun.
