This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch of Cove Creek in polk County is 3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V(V+) section. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the to Green River section is one of them. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are   great reasons to come. The scenic beauty of North Carolina and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Briefly about the general area: Bradley Falls is a fine local attraction, and if you're going to from Saluda, you won't be the only one. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Cove Creek, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are typically in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Cove Creek temperatures dip to the 20's. The high level of rainfall makes Cove Creek a pretty wet spot.
