Whether     you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. The Below Cosmic Crunch to Above Cullasaja Falls section of Cullasaja River in Macon County is 2.5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV(V+) section by American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great plus for this river. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Lodging is available near the river, but if you don’t have reservations   you might end up sleeping in your car. This section is quite short so no need to bring snacks. Briefly about the general area: Buckhorn Gap is a splendid location to pop by nearby, and there's good hiking along the Shortoff Mountain Trail. So much amusing stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not enough time. The friendly folks of Highlands like to hang out close by, and the Three Forks Trail offers hiking at its best. This river is a wonderful place to visit. A tour to Cullasaja River wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Dry Falls. Black Rock Mountain State Park is a delightful place any time of year; Bridal Veil Falls is an inspiring location to have a look at while here.
