The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Seneca, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Base of Cullasaja Falls to Peeks Creek Bridge section of Cullasaja River is 2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V(V+) section     of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in North Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. The wild scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains is great. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Base of Cullasaja Falls to Peeks Creek Bridge stretch is just one of them. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. There are campgrounds   quite near the river where you can camp. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: A journey to California Gap is always fun; Cullasaja River is right by the Three Forks Trail. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Don't leave Cullasaja River without first paying a visit to Cullasaja Falls. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Shortoff Mountain Trail, and Black Rock Mountain State Park is a pleasant location to check out.
