  The Route 2145 Bridge to Route 2309 section of Dan River is 11.5 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. The natural beauty of Rockingham County and the beautiful way the water current moves down
    the stream beats anything. The campgrounds here at Dan River are pretty good. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting some good exercise and just being
out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The put-in is not too far from Danville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Route 2145 Bridge to Route 2309 section is one of them.

Here at Dan River you'll probably meet some people from Providence. Dan River ordinarily gets much rainfall. July is when you get the most rain here; January is when it's the driest. At Dan River throughout the days of summer highs are in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's; overnight lows at Dan River all through the winter typically plunge into the 20's.
