North Carolina whitewater, Deep River

Randolph county, Route 2128 to Route 2221 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I-II     6 miles
The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in North Carolina are often more forgiving than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding. This section of Deep River is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Greensboro-High Point, there's a road map further down the page with more info on
that. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The nature scenery of Randolph County
and the cool fresh water have people coming here. The Route 2128 to Route 2221 stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. Lodging is available near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling
trip.
