The Bryson City section of Deep Creek in Swain County is 3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in North Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. This is a pretty short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The natural beauty of Swain County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. Briefly about the general area: Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a great place next to Deep Creek, and going for a hike
on the Tsali Horse Trail is always a wonderful adventure. So many entertaining things to do here in the Great Smoky Mountains, too wonderful to be true. You'll meet a lot of folks from Bryson City here, and there are good
places to look at along the Sugarland Mountain Trail. This river is so great. Deep Creek is a quite wet place frequently with a good deal of rain.
