The Route 1567 below Duke Dam to US Route 501 stretch of Eno River in Orange/Durham County is 8.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. This stretch is mid length, good     for a one day paddling trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. The natural beauty of North Carolina and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
