Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. states, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This
| is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. If you're coming from Cornelia it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Mule Flats to Arch Bridge section is one of them. Whitewater paddling here in the Great Smoky Mountains is a great experience.

the general area: A pleasant place to take a look at in the vicinity of Fires Creek is Squirrel Spring Gap, and a cool spot to go to is Mule Flats Bend. All year is a perfect time in the Great Smoky Mountains if you
have a thing about the outdoors. The CHoga Trail offers hiking at its best; Fires Creek is not far at all from Andrews. This river has so much to offer. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Arkaquah Trail. Fires Creek
is a wet site that gets a lot of precipitation. Most of the rain falls throughout March while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
