Cleveland Rutherford county, Route 1726 Bridge to Route 1529 Bridge section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I-III     15 miles
The nature scenery of North Carolina and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in North Carolina are easier than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. No matter if you're whitewater rafting
or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. This stretch of First Broad in North Carolina is 15 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. You might have to settle for
a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. The Route 1726 Bridge to Route 1529 Bridge section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
