This stretch of First Broad in North Carolina is 15 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. The Route 1726 Bridge to Route 1529 Bridge section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains   is a great plus for this river. So much cool stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just striking. Through the warmest time of the year, highs frequently are in the 80's at First Broad while night lows are usually in the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for First Broad.
