The wonderful Henderson County scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. This is an extremely short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it     is a very popular destination. The Big Hungry Road to Green River stretch of Hungry River in North Carolina is 1.3 miles long and is a class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The campgrounds here at Hungry River are pretty good. The average North Carolina whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding. The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great plus for this river. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches   in this river system, there are a few others too.
