The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. The put-in location is a short drive from Brevard, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. On     this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch of Looking Glass Creek   in Transylvania County is 5 miles long and is a class III-IV(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: Take a hike on the Black Mountain Trail, and there are plenty of folks from Brevard here at Looking Glass Creek. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Nearby Bennett Gap is a wonderful place to go if you're at Looking Glass Creek, and Looking Glass Falls is an inspiring site to visit while you're here. This river is so wonderful. Hiking along the Buck Spring Trail is good fun, and don't leave Looking Glass Creek without first paying a visit to Slick Rock Falls.
