There are some good hotels     near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The campgrounds here at New Hope Creek are pretty good. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. Briefly about the general area: A great place like Jordan Lake State Park in the neighborhood of New Hope Creek is too good to leave out, and you'll   meet a lot of people from Durham here. Don't leave New Hope Creek without popping by Eno River State Park. For the period of the long summer days here at New Hope Creek, high temperatures generally reach the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at New Hope Creek. New Hope Creek gets a great deal of water. Through the month of July you get the most rain around here while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
