North Carolina whitewater, Noland Creek Swain county, Lakeview Road to Fontana Lake section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.     The wonderful Swain County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Sevierville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Great exercise and spending     some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so better not forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There's camping available near Noland Creek. The beautiful Great Smoky Mountains scenery is an added bonus. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Lakeview Road to Fontana Lake section is one of them. This is a very   short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Briefly about the general area: There are splendid locations to discover along the Wesser Creek Trail, and you might also want to pay a visit to Poplar Cove since you're here at Noland Creek. These mountains rock, just explore all the entertaining stuff to do in the Great Smoky Mountains. Ober Gatlinburg has good slopes and a friendly staff, and going for a hike on the Tsali Horse Trail is always a great adventure. This river is a great place to visit. Don't miss out on a tour to Great Smoky Mountains National Park while you're here at Noland Creek, and you'll almost certainly meet some people from Bryson City here.
