The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great plus for this river. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll   have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: A tremendous place to go to in close proximity to Pigeon River - East Fork is Burnett Cove, and do take a hike on the Buck Spring Trail. Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more entertaining things to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. People from Canton love to come to Pigeon River - East Fork; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Thompson Ridge Trail. A river like this is too good to miss. The high level of rainfall makes Pigeon River - East Fork a quite wet spot.
