The beautiful scenery of North Carolina and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. The Bridge at Flat Creek Road to Bridge at US Route 64 section of Rocky Broad River is 3.6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V section of whitewater. This is a short paddling stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it
is a very popular destination. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The average
whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. The campgrounds here at Rocky Broad River are pretty good. The river winds through the Blue Ridge Mountains and you get great scenery. If you're coming from Asheville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not
familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come.

Briefly about the general area:
A journey to Standing Gap is always fun, and don't leave Rocky Broad River without first paying a visit to Camp Minnehaha Falls. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. While you're here at Rocky Broad River you will meet lots of people from close by Gerton, and a spree to The Cascades will fill your spirit with good feelings. This is such a great river. Rocky Broad River is a pretty wet place usually with a lot of rainfall.
