The Willets-Ochre Hill to Addie stretch of Scotts Creek is 2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV(V) section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in North Carolina tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots     of rivers in this state are good for beginners. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. The river winds through the Blue Ridge Mountains and you get great scenery. The starting location is a short drive from Brevard, as you can see on the road map further down. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This river system has a few good   paddling stretches and the Willets-Ochre Hill to Addie section is one of them. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. Briefly about the general area: Here at Scotts Creek you'll perhaps meet some folks from Sylva, and great skiing awaits you at Cataloochee. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains. While you're here at Scotts Creek you can take a hike along the Caldwell Fork Trail, and Chestnut Gap is a nice place to spend some time. At this river you will always have a good time.
