This stretch of Snowbird Creek is 8 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV+ section by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of North Carolina and the water flowing gracefully down Snowbird Creek will make you feel great.     Whitewater paddling here in the Great Smoky Mountains is a great experience. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. The Hooper Bald to Junction section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The put-in location is a short drive from Knoxville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but   do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. Briefly about the general area: At Snowbird Creek you always meet someone from Robbinsville, and you can go for a hike on the Sugar Cove Trail. This place, the Great Smoky Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining things. A trip to Snowbird Creek wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Middle Falls.
