The nature scenery of Avery/ Mitchell/ Yancey County and the water flowing gracefully down Toe River make the trip here worthwhile. This is the only paddling stretch along Toe River. The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great plus for this river. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, so it looks     like you will be camping out. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
