Whitewater rafting and kayaking in North Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these   hotels fill up quick. The put-in location is a short drive from Brevard. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The nature scenery of Jackson County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more.
