North Carolina whitewater, Yadkin River

Caldwell Wilkes county, SR 1372 to US 321 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS IV+     7 miles
The scenic beauty of North Carolina and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The SR 1372 to US 321 section of Yadkin River in Caldwell Wilkes County is 7 miles long and is a class IV+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in North Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many
runs in this state are very easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. When you're paddling down a Blue
Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. Yadkin River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the SR 1372 to US 321 section is the only one.
